European Day of Languages

This year to celebrate the annual European Day of Languages students at Woodside took part in a European treasure hunt. In teams of three and four they competed against each other to find the answers to 14 questions relating to key European people and events, all hidden in various locations around the school playground. They not only had to use their skills to seek out the hidden answers but then had to decide which question each answer related to.

What is Michelangelo best known for?, In what European city can you eat the delicious “belem” cakes? and “What does the word “clef” mean? were some of the mysteries uncovered in the day’s event. It was fun to take the learning outside and discover so much behind the 45 languages of Europe.
