Working with local primary schools has always been a key priority for Mulberry Academy Woodside. With recent changes to the National Curriculum, it is essential that students have a smooth transition from primary school to secondary school. This enables students to build on their prior skills and knowledge and ensures that there are ‘No wasted years’.
We hold taster days for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils to ensure that they feel comfortable with the surroundings and gain an idea of what to expect when moving up. The taster days offer taster sessions and the opportunity to meet other students. Our Year 10 peer coaches also work with these pupils to ensure that they feel at ease and confident with the transition.
