Partnerships with colleges, universities, voluntary organisations and businesses

Our Careers education programme provides students with skills, knowledge, support and experience of the world of work to enable them to make informed career choices. Mulberry Academy Woodside has excellent links and partnerships with colleges, universities, voluntary organisations as well as businesses to create opportunities to inspire our students and widen their horizons.

We organise careers events and aspiration days throughout the year where many of our partners take part, as well as workshops and specific projects to enhance our students’ awareness of a wider range of career pathways.

Colleges and Sixth Forms

We have an extensive post-16 education programme throughout Years 10 and 11. We work with colleges and Sixth Forms and invite them in to Year 11 assemblies to share information. We also work with them to develop departmental links and organise subject specific events.

Universities

We work very closely with a number of different universities for specific projects:

University of Cambridge Murray Edwards College – Aspiration Days
University of Cambridge – Insight Programme, Maths and Girls’ Physics Experience
London School of Economics – Ace and Ace High Days, Introduction to Social Sciences Events, Black Achievement Conference
University College London – the Brilliant Club, UCL Conferences, Bring your parents to the University Events

Voluntary organisations

Our partnerships with voluntary organisations, such as IntoUniversity, The Girls’ Network, One Degree, Stemnet/Stem Ambassadors and Inspiring the Future, opens up opportunities to motivate and inspire our students about the world of work and challenges stereotypes.

Businesses

In order to raise the aspiration of our students and prepare them for their future work-life, we establish partnerships with both local, national, and international businesses.

We deliver work related learning to prepare our students for the world of work and help them to develop their employability skills through drop-down days and across the curriculum, working together with organisations such as Goldman Sachs and Marks and Spencer. We also work with businesses such as Nomura and RBS to deliver subject specific workshops as part of the IntoUniversity Initiative.
